Boys & Girls Clubs of the Upstate is seeking state assistance to expand its successful after-school model to five new locations in the coming year. Boys & Girls Clubs of the Upstate began in Spartanburg County in 1989 and now operates 10 clubs in Spartanburg and Cherokee counties, serving about 1,000 students per day.
A group of fourth-graders from The Boys & Girls Club dance across the floor to the latest pop songs at the Family Life Center at Mount Moriah Baptist Church. They are full of energy and focused as they carefully execute the choreography Will Scott has taught throughout the week.
